Medicare Schemes
Although Medicare does not cover dental treatment for the majority of patients, there are 2 current schemes available to eligible patients to receive dental care.
Enhanced Primary Care Scheme (EPC)
You may qualify for Medicare assistance if you have a chronic condition and are under "complex care" managed by your GP.
This means that your GP needs to provide a referral for the dental services required, and when you receive the referral you make an appointment.
If you are referred under the EPC, you are required to pay the account in full at each appointment and claim the refund from Medicare as usual.
Remember to bring your GP referral to your initial appointment and current Medicare Card to every appointment.
For more information on the EPC, visit the Medicare website page or call Medicare on 13 21 50.
Teen Dental Plan
You may qualify for Medicare assistance if you are aged between 12 - 17 years old. Eligible teens who have been issued with a Teen Dental Plan Voucher, are welcome to use it at DB Dental.
If you receive dental care under the Teen Dental Plan, you are required to pay the account in full at your appointment and claim the refund from Medicare as usual.
Please ensure that you bring the voucher with you when you arrive for your appointment. Remember, patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to every dental appointment.
For more information regarding the Teen Scheme, visit the Medicare website page or call Medicare on 13 21 50.
