Who has time for extra appointments when you’re already too busy? It would be nice to have straighter teeth, but how will you fit it in between work and family things? And you don’t want to have to change your diet or have tricky cleaning routines.
The big advantage of Invisalign is more time because it’s a new orthodontic treatment. You don’t need to be at the orthodontist’s every couple of weeks. You clean your teeth the usual way. You can get on with life while Invisalign is sorting your new smile.
Will Invisalign work for me and my life?
Because Invisalign uses sets of clear aligners to gently move your teeth into position, you don’t need so many orthodontic appointments. Once you have your sets you just change them according to your program, usually every two weeks.
You need to remove your aligners when you eat or drink anything except plain water, but you just clean your teeth and your aligners afterwards – no fancy techniques are needed. Just keep a brush, floss and toothpaste with you when you’re out.
When will I see results from Invisalign?
Your DB Dental specialist will assess your teeth and explain how long your treatment will be at your first consultation. It might be as little as six months for minor work, or up to 18 months. Everyone’s teeth are different.
But you don’t have to wait to see how your teeth will look when it’s completed. Your dentist will show you a computerised image of the finished result once your teeth have been scanned for treatment.
Your aligners stay in except for eating or drinking. They need to be in for 22 hours a day, but you won’t notice them and nor will anyone else.
What if I go on holidays?
Short trips just mean you need to be sure you have your tooth-cleaning kit handy. If you’re planning a longer holiday, check with your DB Dental practitioner to be sure you will have the right sets of aligners if you need to change sets. And make sure your cleaning kit is in your handbag so you can eat on the aircraft.
