Dr Clemmie Mellor
Dentist | BDS (ADEL).
I was born and raised in the Adelaide Hills, and graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2011 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery.
Since then, I have consistently worked in private practice, now splitting my five days per week between the South Terrace and Nailsworth NDC practices. Concurrently I have furthered my studies by taking various Continuing Professional Development Courses, including training in Invisalign and some implant training.
I have wanted to be a dentist since I was seven. I was always interested in working with my hands, with people and in a constantly challenging and developing industry which allowed flexibility throughout life. I enjoy both the artistic and scientific/medical aspects of dentistry and have always been excited by the opportunity to travel with work and to use my skills for volunteer work.
I particularly enjoy my work with Invisalign, in endodontics and in treating children. I work hard to make the experience as pleasant as possible, attempting to minimise pain and maximise both prevention and perfection wherever possible. A patient’s goals and comfort are my chief concern.
In the broader realm of dentistry, I work with the Royal Flying Doctor Service at least once a year to provide dental care to remote South Australian locations with some students from the University of Adelaide BDS program. I have also done some tutoring at the Uni and am a mentor for an indigenous medical/dental students group (FAIMM), as well as being an ADA mentor for other students in the BDS program here. I am involved in the Australian Dental Association Recent Graduates Committee at both a state and federal level, acting as co-chair for the South Australian branch.
Whilst I feel lucky enough to be able to say I love my job, I do have many other interests and passions, including travel, the arts, the outdoors, yoga (and generally keeping active), as well as spending time with my wonderful family and friends.
