Dr Michael Doust

Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Dr Doust immigrated to the UK in 1963. He was schooled in Britain and attended the Royal Dental Hospital of London, School of Dental Surgery.
Michael immigrated with his wife Margaret and their three children to Australia in 1995.
With 38 years of clinical experience, Michael approaches dentistry with a preventative, holistic attitude. Education is paramount, and the broad or the big picture is centre point to his comprehensive treatment proposals. His part clinical duties have taken him from Junior House Surgeon, department of Oral Surgery, St Georges Hospital, London to Senior Dental Officer, with Queensland Health, Gold Coast.
In between he has enjoyed a short-serviced commission in Her Majesty’s Land Forces in Germany, and has owned and operated 2 past dental practices.
Dr Doust teaches part time at Griffith and James Cook University, Cairns and was a past Satellite Clinic Supervisor at the University of Queensland, Ipswich Campus.
Michael’s “semi-retirement mode” has found him assisting in various charitable ventures. An example being the Hope 4 Health scheme, which required supervision of dental students at Cherbourg Aboriginal Reserve, providing dental needs for the local indigenous population. He is also a reserve member of RAHC (Remote Area Health Corps).
Michael is a committed Christian who enjoys cars, motorcycles, woodturning, signing, bagpipe playing, target pistol shooting and during the quiet times film going and reading.
