Dental Hygienist | BOH (Newcastle)
Graduating with a Bachelor of Oral Health in 2007, I was in the first cohort of Oral Health students to graduate from Newcastle University.
I started my career in the dental industry in 2003 as a dental assistant and found my passion for oral health whilst working for many years as a dental assistant. I completed my certificate 3 in dental assisting and I realised this was a field that I enjoyed. I liked being able to provide patients with education about oral health , so I decided to continue my studies and applied for the bachelor of oral health. During my studies I continued to dental assist on a part time basis until I graduated in 2007.
I have now been a Dental Hygienist for 7 years. I have worked as a Dental Hygienist in Toronto (Newcastle area) and now been at GB Dental on the Central Coast for the past 5 years. During the years I was dental nursing I worked in a practice that had several locations around the Newcastle and Hunter Valley areas.
I enjoy being able to educate patients about their oral health, and help them learn about things they didn’t know before to help them take better care of the oral health in the future. I am a caring and compassionate person and try to make each patient feel comfortable and at ease during their dental appointment.
GB Dental is a lovely modern practice and with a great group of people so I enjoy coming to work each day.
Outside of the dental practice, I enjoy going to the movies, catching up with friends and do some floristry as a side hobby.
