Frequently Asked Questions:
I have Teachers Health, Uni Health or Nurses & Midwives Health insurance. Can I visit a DB Dental practice?
Yes, as DB Dental is part of Teachers Health, Uni Health, and Nurses & Midwives Health preferred provider network, you most certainly can visit one of our dental practices and receive two No Gap preventative dental check-ups per calendar year (this includes comprehensive oral examinations, scale and cleans and x-rays – as required).
Do you accept other health insurance funds, besides Teachers Health, Uni Health, and Nurses & Midwives Health?
We are a preferred provider to many major health funds, as we are with Teachers Health, Uni Health, and Nurses & Midwives Health – see our Preferred Funds page for more information.
Are there any waiting periods?
We recommend that you consult with your current health fund in regards to the waiting periods that you are required to serve. We are more than happy to provide any details such as dental item numbers if your health fund requires them.
How do I avoid surprise expenses?
At DB Dental, we try to make the process as simple and understandable as possible, by putting all treatment plans in writing – which you may take to your health insurer to enquire about the benefits you are entitled to. This means you have the information you need to consider your budget, before proceeding with any treatments. We appreciate finances can play a big role in dental care and we offer various payment options, including our very own Smile Fund, which gives you the ability to treat now and pay in weekly, fortnightly, or monthly installments.
Is Invisalign covered by my health insurance?
In most cases, health insurance providers can offer some form of cover for Orthodontics, but this could be under a lifetime limit or other limitations. We advise that you contact your provider directly and ask them about the benefits of your cover.
Check-ups can be partially out of pocket, depending on your level of cover.
If you have any reservations or queries about your cover and fees, contact your health insurance provider directly – your health insurance provider can offer you the most accurate information, but we will do our best to help.
