Halitosis, the medical name for bad breath, is caused by sulphur producing bacteria in the mouth. Treatment will depend on the underlying cause such as dry mouth, smoking , gum disease, nasal or sinus infections.
Good oral hygiene such as brushing the teeth and tongue at least twice a day, flossing and using an antibacterial mouthwash daily are important ways to combat halitosis.
