Veneers are a great way of closing gaps and generally improving the quality of your smile.
Veneers are resin or porcelain restorations added to the front surface of the tooth in order to correct discolouration, minor misalignment, chips or cracks. They improve the look, colour and shape of your teeth to restore a natural-looking smile.
How veneers are applied
Your DB Dental practitioner will take a mould of the tooth to be capped, and a custom veneer is crafted in a laboratory for fitting and bonding. The dentist prepares the tooth, which may require some buffing of the enamel surface, to allow the veneer to sit flat on the tooth’s surface. If necessary, a local anaesthetic is used during this part of the process.
The tooth is then cleaned with chemicals and the veneer is cemented into place. When the final shape and colour is attained, the surface is polished to make sure the veneer looks natural. Your veneers have the potential to last a long time and should not stain or chip with the correct dental care.
